A dirty and sticky diaphragm assembly can lead to “Elevator Time out Error” in the LS6500. In most cases, replacing the Diaphragm Assy. will resolve this problem.

However, before replacing the diaphragm assembly, firstly check for other obvious issues like making sure the racks are properly placed and not the cause for this failure. Also check the Detector Cap Assy. (Beckman Part Number 594741) is functioning properly and confirm that the telescope assembly is able to move up and down smoothly.
